PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

Mag-drive pumps or magnetic drive pumps are practically centrifugal pumps that are driven by a motor through magnetic coupling instead of using a mechanical shaft. The pump works via a drive magnet that eliminates any shaft sealing required by the pump. Then the pumping action is the same as the conventional centrifugal pump where fluid is moved from suction to discharge through centrifugal force.

Mag-drive pumps are sealless pumps, which is a great advantage as this design eliminates risks of leaks. This makes mag-drive pumps perfect for pumping hazardous fluids that should not leak to the environment as well as ultra-pure liquids and hard-to-seal products.
