MAINTENANCE REQUEST FORMS: PUMP REPAIR REQUEST FORM | PICKUP REQUEST FORM
The Carver RS is an all-around multistage, ring section pump designed for moderate to high-pressure applications and demanding water transfer and feed in mining, minerals, and marine, among others. RS multistage pumps are available in seven basic sizes and are designed to withstand pressures up to 100 bar. Constructed with either ductile iron or stainless steel, Carver Pump’s RS ring section pumps can fit the high-quality standards required from any operation.
RS multistage pump is designed for high-pressure duties, making it suitable for water supply and dewatering applications in the mining industry. The scope and area of the RS pump in the mines are very wide – it easily transports clean water without solids and efficiently pumps liquid with small particles. The RS pump is available in different materials, also making it suitable for fluids with chemical content compatible with the casing and elastomer materials.
The shaft seal of mining multistage pumps is generally sealed with packing, and a mechanical seal can also be used according to application requirements. Such design is utilised for viscosities less than 300 cst.

A multistage pump is a centrifugal pump with several impellers rotating on a single shaft, allowing the pump to reach higher pressures than single-stage/impeller pumps. The impellers are mounted in ring sections along the shaft, with each ring section having its suction casing on one side and discharge casing/diffuser on the other.
Following the centrifugal pump’s operation, the first impeller of a multistage pump draws fluid in and forces it to the tip of the impeller blades before flowing out the discharge casing/diffuser. The fluid then enters another ring section repeatedly until the fluid is discharged through the outlet of the pump. When stages of impellers are added, the flow rate is not altered, but the total head and shaft power increases proportionally to the number of stages.
