Grundfos Circulator Pumps

Grundfos industrial circulator pumps are a type of centrifugal pump specifically designed for the circulation of water in heating, cooling, and hot water recirculation systems. These pumps are renowned for their high efficiency and low maintenance requirements. Compared to conventional circulators, they can reduce energy consumption by up to 80% while providing quiet operation. Certain models, such as the Magna circulator, feature a built-in control system that automatically adjusts the pump speed based on the system's needs. This enables the pump to operate at full speed only during peak flow demand, thereby conserving energy and reducing costs. Grundfos circulator pumps are utilised in a wide range of applications across various settings, including industrial, commercial, and domestic environments.

Design Advantages

  • 3 speed variations: single-speed, three-speed, variable speed
  • Can be equipped with Isolation valve option for easier servicing
  • Circulator pump timer to operate unit at pre-set times
  • Some models have check valves for preventing water backflow
  • Can be installed horizontally or vertically
  • Excellent reliability and efficiency

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

Like other centrifugal pumps, Grundfos circulator pumps utilise an impeller to generate pressure, which forces fluid through the system. The impeller is driven by a motor located at the center of the pump. This motor is powered by electricity and rotates the impeller. The blades of the impeller create a low-pressure zone at the center of the pump, which draws water in from the inlet. As the water passes through the impeller blades, pressure increases and the high-pressure water is then discharged through the outlet for heating needs.
