Grundfos Circulator Pumps

Grundfos circulator pumps are designed for best-in-class efficiency with low maintenance. Compared to conventional circulators, these rotor pumps can cut your energy costs by up to 80 % while delivering noise-free performance. The stainless steel and bronze pumps are good for moving potable water in open-loop circulation due to their excellent rust and corrosion resistance.

Meanwhile, the cast iron pumps are the standard choice for close-looped circulation due to the material’s low cost and good performance in handling de-oxygenated water.

Principle of Operation

Like other centrifugal pumps, Grundfos circulator pumps utilise an impeller to generate pressure, which forces fluid through the system. The impeller is driven by a motor located at the center of the pump. This motor is powered by electricity and rotates the impeller. The blades of the impeller create a low-pressure zone at the center of the pump, which draws water in from the inlet. As the water passes through the impeller blades, pressure increases and the high-pressure water is then discharged through the outlet for heating needs.
