Grundfos End Suction Long-Coupled Single Stage

A Grundfos end-suction long-coupled single-stage pump is a type of centrifugal pump designed for large-scale industrial applications. It features a single impeller and a long-coupled design, which allows for easy maintenance. Additionally, its back pull-out design enables the removal of the motor, coupling, bearing bracket, and impeller without disturbing the pump housing or attached pipework. The suction of end-suction pumps is typically axial, while the discharge is radial, forming a 90-degree angle.

Design Advantages

  • Efficient pumping at a low initial cost
  • Simple design with very few moving parts
  • Designed to specific pump standards including ISO 2858 and EN 733
  • Various shaft options
  • Cast iron or stainless steel pump housing
  • Compatible with Grundfos GO remote control (NBE/NBGE models only)

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

A Grundfos end-suction long-coupled single-stage pump works by converting mechanical energy into hydraulic energy using centrifugal force. The impeller, which is driven by a motor, rotates and creates a low-pressure zone that draws liquid in from the suction side. As the liquid is forced outward, its velocity increases. This increase in velocity is then converted into pressure as the liquid flows into the volute casing.
