8000 SERIES CENTRIFUGAL SELF-PRIMING PUMPS

Gusher Pumps Logo
Gusher Pumps’ 8000 Series is engineered for various agricultural and industrial applications, including filtration, irrigation, dewatering, transfer, industrial sump, shallow sump washers, and tank car unloading. The range features self-priming, horizontal centrifugal pumps that use semi-open impellers and can have an external impeller adjustment. Maintenance in these pumps is more straightforward than in other types without external valves, air separators, or priming chambers. Furthermore, the back pull-out design makes servicing a Gusher 8000 pump easier than ever. They also feature clean-out ports for the faster removal of foreign materials.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The working principle of centrifugal pumps involves imparting energy to the liquid using a centrifugal force developed by rotating an impeller with several blades or vanes. Fluid enters the pump casing at the impeller eye. Velocity energy is then imparted to the liquid using the centrifugal force produced by the rotation of the impeller, and the fluid is radially pushed out towards the impeller periphery. Finally, the velocity energy of the liquid is converted to pressure energy by directing it to an expanding volute design casing in a volute-type centrifugal pump or diffusers in a turbine pump.
