KDP mechanical diaphragm parts breakdown with item number and parts description

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

Positive Displacement Pump

KDP Diaphragm Pumps fall under the positive displacement pump classification. They utilize two flexible diaphragms that reciprocate back and forth, creating a temporary chamber, which both draws in and expels fluid through the pump.

Each diaphragm is placed in a separate chamber. When one of the diaphragms moves up, the volume of the chamber with the diaphragm up increases. Pressure decreases in this chamber and fluid is drawn in. Next, the diaphragm moves down, causing decreased volume. The Fluid that was previously drawn in will now be forced out. The other chamber follows the same cycle but the second diaphragm moves up alternately with the first diaphragm. This now creates flow.
