Tuthill's HD Series of Industrial Process Pumps

The Heavy-Duty Series comprises high-strength circumferential piston pumps. They are resistant to abrasives and air entrainment, can withstand high and variable viscosities, and run dry without damage. The HD Series outperforms other rotary positive displacement pumps with higher differential pressure.

Because of the large pumping cavities and non-contacting design, these pumps are ideal for gently handling thin and viscous liquids and liquids containing large solids. They are designed to be easily cleaned, making them ideal for applications requiring sanitary construction.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

A hydraulic piston pump is a type of reciprocating positive displacement pump that creates high amounts of pressure to help with the flow of fluid, such as water. It is powered by a hydraulic drive mechanism that helps move the fluid down a cylindrical-shaped chamber. These reciprocating pumps have an outer diameter seal with a piston rod attachment. They work by creating pressure by distributing energy into the pumped fluid. This action results in a pressurized fluid cylinder.
