Dewatering “fish” tanks are containers or boxes used for treating water in construction sites, tunnels, and other facilities that can benefit from the pretreatment of dirty water, like mines and remote sites. These tanks work as a collection point for multiple sumps before transferring to another fish tank further up the shaft or to the surface. They effectively pretreat large solids and a high percentage of sludge without moving parts, helping protect water treatment plants and equipment upstream. Dewatering fish tanks are simple to use with low maintenance requirements and easy to transport when disposing of waste.

WHAT ARE ALL-PUMPS DEWATERING FISH TANKS FOR CONSTRUCTION, TUNNELING, MINING SOLUTIONS?

All-Pumps designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of dewatering fish tanks to cater to different dewatering situations. Our dewatering fish tanks have special filtering systems to separate liquid from solids or sludge before discharging waste for easy transport to its final approved destination. They are built using robust materials, offering long service life and come with many options for dewatering pumps.
We also offer a complete dewatering package with our range of reliable sludge pumps from Tsurumi – featuring GPN35.5 and KTV2-80 – to clean up the sediment side of the fish tank.

OUR STANDARD CHOICE FOR FISH TANKS IS GALVANISED STEEL WHICH IS 5X MORE RUST RESISTANT THAN PAINTED STEEL.

HOW DOES DEWATERING FISH TANKS WORK?

Our dewatering fish tank for mining, construction, and tunnelling solutions has multiple options for filling. Vacuum trucks and excavators can easily discharge sludge directly into the box. It can also be filled using hoses or pipes or via the filling point of the dewatering fish tank. After the tank is filled with sludge, the built-in weir wall screens solids during the primary treatment or in the first partition of the tank. The solids within the sludge start to settle at the bottom of the dewatering fish tank. The water with fewer particles is pumped to the second compartment and can now exit the tank via the drain valve. Settled solids can be emptied when the water is fully drained out.
It makes a lot of sense for smaller wastewater treatment applications that still use drying beds because dewatering fish tanks can help speed that process up. Operators are always looking to cut costs, and we believe this solution by All-Pumps is an easy way to help them do it.
