Part of the Iron Line, the Blackmer® X Series Sliding Vane Pumps are used for general transfer duty and are available in port sizes from 1 to 4 inches, flows from 3 to 520 gpm, temperatures to 300ºF, and relief valve pressures up to 125 psi. The X Series pumps are self-priming, and the self-adjusting vanes help maintain this capability. These vane pumps handle clean, non-corrosive industrial liquids and petroleum products, including many types of oil, solvents and thinners.

BLACKMER X1 SERIES SLIDING VANE PUMPS
The X1 Series, part of the Iron Line of sliding vane pumps, consists of thermal shock-resistant ductile iron construction with external ball bearings isolated from the pumpage by mechanical seals, designed to couple directly to standard electric motors. This pump's design meets tight installation requirements.
Features
Shock-resistant construction
Ideal for tight installation spaces
Exclusive “combination” valve works as a back-to-tank bypass valve and as an internal relief valve
Technical Data
Flow rates up to 53 L/min
Differential pressures up to 8.6 bar
Working pressures up to 24.1 bar
Viscosities up to 0.2 - 20 cP
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
Blackmer sliding vane pumps use a rotor with sliding vanes to draw liquid into the pump. This rotor is located close to the wall of the cam so that a crescent-shaped cavity is formed on the opposite wall. Each rotor slot contains a sliding vane. As the rotor rotates, centrifugal force, hydraulic pressure, and push rods work together to extend each vane to the casing wall. This creates an expanding cavity on the inlet side – creating a vacuum that pulls liquid into the pump. The liquid is trapped between the vanes and the casing wall. The rotor rotation moves the liquid cavities around to the outlet side of the pump. The vanes are forced back into their slots at the outlet side, decreasing the cavity size and forcing the liquid through the outlet port. Because the vanes run in contact with the casing wall, vane pumps are commonly used in thin liquid applications.
