PUMP
Principle of Operation
Grundfos diaphragm pumps are reliable positive displacement pumps which utilize two flexible diaphragms that reciprocate back and forth, creating a temporary chamber, which both draws in and expels fluid through the pump.
When the diaphragm flexes, the pressure inside the pump lowers, which draws in fluid. Depending on the model, the diaphragm uses different methods to flex. When the diaphragm is flexed back, the liquid is forced out of the pump the other way, and in so continues to draw in and expel the liquid being pumped. The diaphragms work as a separation wall between the air and the liquid. Many diaphragm pumps will include check valves to keep the liquid from flowing backwards in the pump.
