Industrial crew installing a large vertical turbine fire pump from a jetty structure over the ocean, illustrating a marine or offshore fire suppression system installation

Problem

All Pumps were approached by the client to help them with a solution for supplying a fire pump for a wharf off a port in WA. The wharf sits a few hundred meters into the ocean and the area where the pump was to go had no water supply. The duty required for the fire pump was 97 LPS @ 105m head.

Solution

All Pumps worked with the client nominated design consultants to help conceptualize a fire pump involving a vertical line shaft pump coupled to a diesel engine. The duty required would be met by a Caprari P14C pump coupled to a 208 kW Welling & Crossley 6120 Ti fire pump. All Pumps designed, fabricated & supplied a heavy duty galvanised base frame to mount the engine and pump along with a 450-litre diesel tank with its own base frame. The pump was manufactured in Marine Grade Bronze and Duplex Stainless Steel, offering the best resistance to sea water at temperatures above 35 Degrees Celsius. All Pumps also designed, fabricated and supplied a 600NB 316SS shroud to protect the submerged pump against wave impacts.

Project Highlights

All Pumps not only helped the client create a solution for the project but also helped the client to allocate a budget for the project before winning it in a competitive tender. The system was supplied on time & in budget which also helped us get commendations from the client. Furthermore, All Pumps were invited to help the client with commissioning the system which was accepted and completed to wide satisfactions & appreciation.
