High-Pressure Plunger Pump Complete Assembly Project

All-Pumps built a complete pump package for an industrial process consultant that required a reliable solution for handling aggressive chemicals at high operating pressures. We handpicked a high-pressure plunger pump that meets the client’s requirements, coupled it with an industrial-grade motor, and assembled the components on a custom baseplate.

An industrial process consultant was looking for a complete pump solution for their customer’s extremely high-pressure application. They required that the pump be made of premium materials to handle aggressive chemicals that must be pressurised to 300 psi at relatively low flow rates.

All Pumps worked on the application to offer a complete solution, and a detailed General Arrangement and 3D drawing were also sent to the customer to provide a visual display of how the pump looks.

I - HIGH-PRESSURE PLUNGER PUMP AND CUSTOM

In this project, we chose an Interpump 71 Series WK159 plunger pump and coupled it to a special WEG W22 motor to suit the customer’s requirements.
Interpump high-pressure plunger pumps are recognised in the industry as the longest-lasting, most reliable pumps available. The nickel-plated manifold and valve plugs provide corrosion-resistant operation and help reduce damage caused by cavitation. These pumps use robust plungers, providing long service life at very high pressures of up to 350 bar (over 5000 psi), and can therefore guarantee low maintenance costs.
Plunger pumps are positive displacement pumps where their high-pressure seal is stationary and a smooth cylindrical plunger slides through the seal. This operating principle differentiates plunger pumps from piston pumps, allowing them to be useful and efficient at higher pressures.

II - CUSTOM BASEPLATE FOR HIGH-PRESSURE APPLICATIONS

The pump motor assembly was mounted on a custom baseplate designed by our in-house engineering team. It was created specifically to meet the customer’s application requirements, especially in resisting corrosive environments.
