The Solution
Project Highlights
Chocolate is one of the most demanding fluids to transfer in the food industry. Conching chocolate poses many challenges, especially regarding shear sensitivity, viscosity, solidification when cooled, and clogging. With our deep understanding of the application and the client's needs, we recommended a different gear pump brand that will be more efficient than the client's current ones.
Roper Pumps is well known for its gear pumps used in various production industries for processing, transferring, and blending. Roper’s special chocolate gear pumps offer a proven, reliable design for chocolate pumping, boasting features like:
- Iron bearings with large square grooves allow for better circulation of the process fluid to prevent build-up.
- A lantern ring in the packing prevents air from entering the process stream. This modification prevents the process fluid from hardening within the pump.
- Option for heating jacket system for temperature-sensitive processes and keeping chocolate fluid.
- Undersized gears are used to accommodate extra clearance.
Additionally, Roper chocolate gear pumps are engineered to minimise shearing forces. This feature protects the product and preserves the texture and flavour of chocolate throughout the entire conching process. Made of rugged cast iron, Roper gear pumps can withstand the harsh nature of chocolate ingredients, ensuring long-lasting performance and lower maintenance.
With over 50 years of experience providing solutions for the chocolate industry and collaborating with the world's leading pump manufacturers, All-Pumps has consistently met the high requirements for carefully handling chocolate.
