MAINTENANCE REQUEST FORMS: PUMP REPAIR REQUEST FORM | PICKUP REQUEST FORM
Durco PolyChem GRP pump is an end suction, single-stage, centrifugal pump made in accordance with ASME B73.1 regulations. The pump is created using Glass Reinforced Phenolic (GRP), which is known for its economical price, long life, and superior corrosion resistance.
The pump is created using Glass Reinforced Phenolic (GRP), which is known for its economical price, long life, and superior corrosion resistance. A GRP pump is often preferred over expensive high-alloy metal pumps for handling extremely corrosive materials such as acid, chlorine, and saltwater.
Self-priming — horizontal, end suction, top discharge
VGRP — vertical, non-metallic sump

Industrial Chemical Pumps
In Durco PolyChem centrifugal pumps, fluid enters the impeller through the “eye” and is “centrifuged” (hence the name) to the impeller periphery. As the impeller rotates, it imparts kinetic energy onto the fluid. The impeller vanes have channels with an increasing flow path area. As the flow path area expands, the passing fluid’s velocity decreases and the pressure increases. The fluid then falls to the volute. Due to the unique shape of the volute casing, the fluid undergoes a further velocity decrease and pressure increase. This causes the liquid to be discharged through the discharge port.
Low-Cost, Long-Term Solution To Corrosive Services
With corrosion resistance superior to many more expensive, highly alloyed metals and with costs closer to that of ductile iron, the PolyChem GRP has proven to be the low-cost, long-term solution in acidic and chloride-rich applications.
ASME B73.5M
Made of premium Derakane® vinyl ester resin reinforced with randomly oriented glass fibers, the GRP pump is designed to ASME B73.5M standards for chemical process pumps.
Compression Molded
GRP wet-end components are compression molded at high temperatures and pressures to evenly distribute reinforcing fibers. This results in Smooth hydraulic passages; High efficiencies; Lower operating costs; High structural strength.
