The electric-operated double diaphragm pump is a relatively new technology that can be used where other pump types may have failed, especially in chemical pumping and transfer applications. The Graco QUANTM EODD has combined the well-known diaphragm pump technology with the control and energy-saving benefits of advanced electric drives. This new technology offers other unique advantages, such as:

• Leak-free operation: The most important factor in chemical transfer is containment. End-users have to trust that a pump will not only successfully transfer any challenging chemical in its process but also fully contain it. Pumps with mechanical seals are more prone to failure and product leakage than EODD pumps that do not have mechanical seals.
• Durable construction: Made from resilient materials such as rubber, thermoplastics, or elastomers (for this project, Teflon PTFE – provides effective lining for steel parts, thus extending the pump's service life, reducing maintenance and protecting product purity) to endure challenging fluids like chemicals.
• Ease of maintenance: Maintenance is a key consideration when selecting the right pump technology, regardless of the application. However, maintenance can be a crucial factor for pumps in hazardous applications due to the elevated safety levels involved when performing any maintenance. In addition, any significant downtime due to a pump failure translates into expensive repairs and lost revenue. It is also worth noting that EODD pumps have very few wetted parts (diaphragms, check valves, valve seats, and chamber), making maintenance easy and less costly.
