Dosing Pumps

PRECISE METERING, RUGGED TO WITHSTAND DIFFICULT FLUIDS AND CHEMICALS
Dosing and metering pumps, which belong to the positive displacement category, are designed to inject a chemical or another substance into a flow of water, gas or steam.

INDUSTRIAL DOSING PUMP

Dosing and metering pumps, which belong to the positive displacement category, are designed to inject a chemical or another substance into a flow of water, gas or steam. Dosing and metering pumps, which are typically small, provide an extremely precise flow rate for maximum control. They are the central part of an integrated dosing system designed for automatic dispersion of chemicals. This dosing definition applies to a wide range of applications and industries, from wastewater treatment to food processing.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF DOSING PUMPS

Dosing pumps draw a measured amount of liuid into its chamber and injects the chemical into a tank or pipe that contains the fluid that is being dosed. It’s powered by an electric motor or an air actuator and has a controller that turns the pump on and off and manages the flow rate. Some models include more sophisticated control systems.
Like any other industrial pumps, these dosing and metering pumps are differentiated based on their purpose and their typical actions. They are designed for dosing different chemicals at different pressures. The following are the three important variants of dosing and metering pumps based on their purpose and action.
The pumps use diaphragm mechanism, which is why they are named diaphragm pumps. There are two types of diaphragm pumps – a constant injection type pump and a pulse injection type pump. Both these pumps use diaphragm mechanism. Diaphragm constant injection pumps have valves and pistons on the outlet and the inlet. The piston can empty and fill the chamber, by drawing out or in. The chamber fills when the piston is drawn in. A chemical is injected in a specific dose and at a predefined speed. On the other hand, diaphragm pulse injection pumps are fitted with a solenoid coil, which injects chemicals in pulses. These pumps have simple designs and are inexpensive.
These pumps feature meshing gear impellers. They send a prefixed volume of chemicals through these impellers. Lobe pumps are suited for fluids having high viscosities. These pumps are not designed for low flow rates.
Of all the pumps mentioned on this list, these are the most accurate dosing pumps used today. They feature flexible bent tubes, which allow the fluids to pass. A roller in the pump helps control the flow of fluid.
