Blacoh SurgeShield™ Pulsation Dampener

The Blacoh SurgeShield™ Pulsation Dampener serves as a dual-purpose solution, acting as both a shock absorber for peristaltic pumps and a compact bladder-style surge vessel. This device is designed to safeguard pumps and piping from the harmful effects of pulsation and water hammer, reducing the risk of costly repairs and extending the system’s lifespan.

Utilising advanced bladder-style hydropneumatic technology, it provides reliable pressure control without the need for a continuous pressurised air source.

Principle of Operation

Hose pumps, also known as peristaltic pumps, typically create vacuum pockets at the discharge during operation. This, combined with the pump's pulsing action, makes it challenging to stabilise the discharge flow and leads to pressure fluctuations. The SurgeShield features a dampening element that expands and contracts to absorb pressure spikes, ensuring a nearly steady flow rate.
