DEWATERING BY PUMPING
This method involves using dewatering pumps and tends to be more favuorable.
We provided a Pioneer diesel dewatering pump PPSK66S14L2 to an open pit mine here in Australia.
The Diesel Driven, Hardened Stainless Steel Pump Was Mounted Onto A Skid Base To Ensure Maximum Mobility Around The Mine
It is auto prime and powered by a powerful 1500 liters Cat diesel engine.
Trucks are critical in mining operations and since environment in mines are not the most ideal, there needs to be extra efforts in maintaining these trucks… Like having a vehicle wash bay!
An iron ore mine contacted us, requesting a complete solution for their wash bays.
During wet season, mud gets stuck underneath trucks, sometimes as much as 300kg!
The mud and dirt prevent the trucks from cooling down properly. When the lubricants get too hot to operate as usual, breakdowns happen.
Not only does wet weather poses as a problem, summer heat also causes temperature on trucks to soar to 80 degrees and they need to be cooled down before cleaning up with chemicals or detergents.
By taking charge of project management, design engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning, All Pumps was also to provide a complete pump solution.
We supplied Javelin vertical multistage pumps for pressure boosting. With stainless steel impellers, chambers and pressure casing, Javelin vertical multistage pumps can also be used to boost water pressure in buildings, water networks and industrial water supply.
In order to ensure the truck wash bays meets the Environmental Discharge requirements, we also installed a SPEL Puraceptor to treat the runoff. SPEL Puraceptor is a full retention separator that treats all flows and is capable of containing more than the anticipated maximum oil spillage.
Javelin was established to provide a package pump solution that is of high quality, reliable, competitive and energy-efficient. Javelin Pumps covers a vast range of sizes and solutions from a small domestic mains water pressure booster system to a municipal multiple pump water supply systems. Javelin Pumps come in a wide range of different package solutions that will suit your every need. Know more.
Needing a reliable and long-lasting solution to deal with their industrial and sewage waste, the client reached out to All-Pumps for a self-priming centrifugal pump.
A power plant had an existing centrifugal close-coupled pump to pump effluent water from an underground storage tank. A foot valve in the suction pipe (inside the tank) helped the pump to prime. However, there were constant issues with the foot valve resulting in problems priming the pump. This also caused the pump to cavitate and hence the required duty was not achievable by the pump, decreasing the overall performance of the system.
The client approached All-Pumps to find an alternative solution, seeing as the pump had to be on the surface. In addition to this, since the pump had to be in an open environment, the client also requested that the control panel for the pump be built in stainless steel with a rain hood, an emergency stop button, and a visible break isolator.
All Pumps built a pump skid using Hydroprime HP50-160 self-priming centrifugal pump with solids handling capabilities coupled to an IP66 motor through a belt drive. A stainless steel control panel was also designed and built as per the client’s requirements with rain hood top, an outside panel emergency stop button, and a visible break isolator inside the control panel escutcheon door. The pump system was tested to AS2417-2001 as per the duty point requested by the client and then dispatched.
These are a type of centrifugal pump that use an air-water mixture to reach a fully-primed pumping condition. It is used in many applications including sewage, construction dewatering and flood control. Learn more

Know more: About All Pumps
A client required a dual AOD pump system, on polypropylene base, which was to be used for pumping sea water with occasional solids from a 3 metre deep sump pit.
Sea water is extremely corrosive and thus all parts of the pump system had to be corrosive resistant.
We designed, manufactured and assembled a pump system consisting of two Graco Husky 2200 polypropylene AOD pumps with neoprene elastomers complete with suction-discharge pipework and air inlet pipework, all mounted on a polypropylene base.
We recently supplied a Wilden PX4 AOD Pump to a customer who is always on the run.
Since an AOD pump is powered only by compressed air, it was fitted on a trailer and provided great mobility.
Air operated pumps are extremely versatile and able to perform well under different environments.
Due to their versatility, air operated diaphragm pumps are suitable for use in a wide range of industries such as energy, process, chemicals, hygienic and wastewater.
Run dry refers to the ability to continue operating, without damaging the pump, when there is no fluid.
This is a very useful feature to have, when the pumping application may result in varying & inconsistent suction conditions.
Most pumps need to be primed or, in layman terms, get ready for operation.
Having the ability to self-prime means AODD pumps have shorter start-up time and be fully operational quicker.
The ball & seat/ check-valve design allows the pump to pass solid particles. This is beneficial in a wide range of applications such as pumping slurries or food products with seeds.
Diaphragm pumps are simple, non-technical & require no specialist training for maintenance. There are no special clearances or tools required for pump repairs.
Air motors do not require external lubrication for operation.
No electrical power or auxiliary requirements mean that an air-operated diaphragm pump is intrinsically safe and can be operated in many hazardous situations/ applications like underground coal mines.

Over the years a manufacturing plant ran hundreds of air-operated pumps and benefited greatly from their simplicity.
However, with the onshore manufacturing costs on the rise, they had to take drastic action against the high running costs of these pumps to minimize their long-term manufacturing costs.
The customer has had significant growth in market share which meant they were also on the verge of needing to replace their site compressor which would have meant considerable cost outlay.
All Pumps suggested that a Peristaltic Pump (also known as a hose pump) was the optimal solution to the client’s challenge. Hose pumps had various benefits, like dry running capability, low shear, positive displacement solution, and simplicity of repair.
After considering various pump designs with the customer we arrived at the conclusion this was the best pump for the duty.
The Abaque Peristaltic Hose Pump has the capability to provide greater pressure meaning they can provide more fluid into their pressurized filling chambers at a higher speed.
To get the pump installed and running optimally, the Allpumps team worked with the client’s process/improvement engineers in the design phase through to providing maintenance support, and by offering affordable options for purchasing on wearing parts.
The Abaque Series peristaltic hose pumps can handle your toughest pumping needs – from abrasive and aggressive fluids to shear sensitive and viscous materials, while a seal-free design eliminates leaks and contamination. Read more

All Pumps Sales & Service provided the coal seam gas plant with an Ex D rated pump system designed to function in hazardous areas.
An energy company required a dewatering pump to move water produced during coal seam gas mining.
The water from the mine was collected in an above ground vertical concrete tank with nozzles at the top.
The pump had to be at ground level, which is a major challenge because the pump needs to work with low or negative Net Positive Suction Head (NPSH).
IN AUSTRALIA, COAL IS THE DOMINANT FORM OF ENERGY PRODUCTION.
In regards to the duty of the pump, it was required to have the following capabilities:
All Pumps Sales & Service provided the energy company a complete solution.
The pump system is composed of an auto-prime centrifugal pump coupled to an Ex d motor along with Ex d instrumentation, and a control panel with a variable speed drive (VSD) installed in a non-hazardous area.
DUE TO THE FLAMMABLE NATURE OF SOME MINE GASES, IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE EX D RATED EQUIPMENT TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF YOUR STAFF.
To be compatible with the water produced in coal seal gas application, the pump system was designed according to these specifications:
The project was despatched within the required time, and a complete manufacturer’s data report (MDR) along with all relevant certificates and ITP’s was provided to the client for documentation.
